There is a lot of articles and online tests available for all the interested readers, but they are usually just three main skin types listed in those: dry, oily, and normal. But the truth is that many of us are a mixture of the three types.

Keep reading to find out more about skin types and determine which one is yours.

Oily / Clogged Pores / Skin Prone to Severe Breakouts

Of all skin types, this one is characterized by a very high production of sebum and large, clogged pores. Clogged pored and extra sebum leads to the most severe breakouts of all the skin types, including blackheads and cysts. This skin type will break out from heavy oils or pore-clogging ingredients, and it needs a regular schedule of exfoliating.

Oily / Combination / Sensitive / Prone to Consistent Breakouts and Blackheads

This type of skin is characterized by very oily T-zone and tightness, redness, or irritation that gets worse when harsh and drying products are used on it. Constantly clogged and enlarged pores are also a characteristic of this type of skin. Constant breakouts and blackheads are also frequent in this type of skin.

Skin type 2 becomes red and flushes exceptionally quickly, and it also gets irritated and tight when harsh products are used on it. This skin type needs a carefully crafted blend of smoothing and antibacterial products to maximally clean all the blemishes and remove all the dirt without leaving the skin feeling dry, tight, or irritated.

Normal / Dehydrated skin / Skin that is showing the signs of aging

This type of skin produces some oil (mostly in the T-zone) in the summer, but it gets dry and tight in the wintertime. This skin type may have enlarged pores and blackheads, mainly in the T-zone. Because the skin is dehydrated, it needs products that will boost cellular turnover. The best solution is exfoliation that will help brighten the complexion and prevent visible signs of aging.

Dry / Tired / Displays Signs of Aging

Skin that belongs to this type feels tight and dry all year round, and it tends to look tired and older than it is. It is also characterized by loss of elasticity and hyperpigmentation. This skin needs healthy and energizing nutrients, like peptides and an extra exfoliation, in order to encourage a healthy glow.

Dry / Sensitive and Tight / Shows signs of aging

Skin type 5 is very prone to dryness, tightness, and the loss of elasticity. This skin type is also characterized by visible wrinkles, extreme loss of tone, and inside glow. This type of skin needs intense nutrition, and it requires comforting products to soothe and strengthen the skin from inside out.
